Our Verdict
Papers, Please isn’t just a great fan film, it’s a great film in its own right. The cinematography, acting and storytelling are all superb and the ending delivers a powerful gut punch that sticks with you long after watching. It’s striking how much empathy you feel for the immigration officer, who may be ruining lives by turning good people away, but he takes no pleasure in it, he’d doing it for his family. He’ll lose his job if he lets the wrong people in. Or worse…
