Our Verdict
Where Are They Now? paints a pretty grim life for Jessica, Roger and the rest of the washed up cartoon stars. Roger only shows sparks of life when Jessica leaves the room and it’s fair to say that the chain-smoking, beer-drinking, KFC eating, varicose-veined Jessica isn’t quite the sex symbol she was in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? It is a little depressing, but also very funny and it’s packed full of great little details and sight-gags. Garfield’s litter tray and Mumm-ra picking on Lion-O are particularly funny moments and the street scene is full of familiar faces ravaged by time. Roger may be past his prime, but the final scene shows that he still has his unerring ability to make people laugh.
